As a production designer Anna has worked with many high profile directors including Neil Jordan, Nicholas Roeg, Lenny Abrahamson and Whit Stillman. She won an ‘Irish Film and Television Award’ in both 2010 and 2012 for her design work on ‘Ondine’ and ‘Stella Days’ respectively. In 2020 she was invited to become a member of AMPAS, the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences. Her recent design credits include ‘Conversations with Friends’ directed by Lenny Abrahamson, ‘Long Day’s Journey into Night’ directed by Jonathan Kent and 'Small Town Big Story' directed by Chris O’Dowd which is due for release later this year.
Anna also maintains a career as a fine art photographer. In 2024 photographs from her ‘Farmer’ series are being shown in The Brooklyn Museum as part of the group show ‘In the Now: Gender and Nation in Europe, Selection from the ‘Sir Mark Fehrs Haukohl Photography Collection’. In 2022 photographs from the same series were part of the exhibition ‘A Growing Enquiry’ at the RHA Gallery in Dublin and also in the exhibition ‘Images Are All We Have’ at the Museum of Contemporary Photography in Dublin.
In 2001 she published a book, Fish Stone Water on the holy wells of Ireland and in 2004 co-directed a documentary on the same subject called An Tobar.
